Things to know before you book

Allergies

If you have any allergies or intolerances, please make us aware in your booking notes and also re-highlight this upon arriving to the restaurant and when ordering. Our menu references items which are gluten free, but for any other dietary requirements, our allergen folder can be viewed.

Bookings/Walk-Ins

We recommend booking to avoid disappointment. We do however welcome walk-ins and we will do our best to accommodate you.
When booking on-line via Open Table, your card details will be required to secure your booking. All credit card information is processed securely by Open Table. No-shows or cancellations less than 1 day in advance will be subject to a charge of £15 per person.

Children

We very much welcome families to The Old Quay House.
We are able to provide highchairs, please make us aware in the booking notes if any are required. Please be aware that highchairs count as a regular chair when booking. Failure to include your children within the overall party size could result in us being unable to accommodate you.
Baby changing facilities can be found in the disabled toilet on the ground floor.

Disabled Access

Our bar, restaurant and disabled toilet are all located with level access on the ground floor.
We would appreciate you letting us know of any accessibility requirements, just so we can ensure we can allocate you an appropriate table on the ground floor.
Our overflow restaurant/function room is located on the first floor with stairs/Stannah stairlift access only.

Dogs

Please ensure you select ‘Dog Friendly Seating Standard’ on your Open Table reservation. If this is not selected, the system could seat you where dogs are not permitted, and therefore we may not be able to honour your booking. (Please be aware – selecting ‘standard seating’ and adding a note about your dogs, DOES NOT book a dog friendly table).

We do welcome well behaved dogs within our bar area and garden. Please be aware there will very likely be other dogs in close proximity, so we do not recommend bringing dogs that are protective, loud or anxious.
Please let us know if you are bringing a dog with you, by using the ‘Guest Request’ feature, so we can ensure your table is suitable. Failure to let us know could result in us being unable to seat you.

Downstairs/Upstairs and Outdoor Dining

We try and honour our guests requests, however garden view tables or any specific table cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, when you place your booking, regardless of your requests, you may be sat anywhere within our bar area or downstairs/upstairs restaurants.

Outdoor dining is unreserved, and is available on a first come first served basis, but are not guaranteed if we are extremely busy with our reserved indoor tables.

Drinks Only

You are welcome to pop in for drinks only. We have several bar tables which can be used for drinks, along with tables in our garden area. Bookable tables are for dining only and not just for drinks.

Large Groups (7 or more Guests)

The largest table bookable online seats 6 people (children are included in this total, including highchairs). If your party is larger than this, please contact us direct and we will see if we are able to accommodate you.

Length of Stay

Your table will be booked for 2 hours.

We have a 15 minute grace period. Please call us if you are running later than 15 minutes after your booked time. Unfortunately this will reduce your allocated time on your table.
